EPT Prague 2009 at Golden Prague Poker Hilton
Image In less than one month the Congress Hall of Hilton hotel will be filled with poker tables and for whole week world top poker players will be meeting best Czechs and Slovaks.

Of course, we are talking about third return of the biggest poker series in Europe EPT, which will dominate Prague in the first week of December.

The main event with buy-in € 5.000 + € 250 will be held from 1st till the 6th of December.

Last year forty-four year old real estate agent from Italy Salvatore Bonavena triumphed over the tournament after he had stood up to competition of 570 opponents and he took the biggest deal winning € 774.000 .
 
Who came to EPT 2008 as a by-stander could remember tables besieged by journalists and some braver watchers, who were observing the biggest stars of European poker such as Gus Hansen, members of PokerStars Pro Noah Boeken, Dario Minieri, Marcin Horecki, Luca Pagano, William Thorson, Alex KravĨenko or lovely Katja Thater.
 
The Czechs were not too much successful in main event but they bettered their appetite in side events. For example, Josef Šamánek scored with third place in side event with € 1000 buy in. For this year, the organizers prepared, besides the already mentioned main event (1st - 6th December), live satellites - first € 550 + 50, 1 rebuy, will take place on 30th November and there will be held also 1-table and 2-table satellites on this day.
 
On the following day, players interested in the main event will have a possibility for qualification for day 1b in form of rebuys with € 200 + € 20 buy-in. In parallel with second and final starting flight of main event on 2nd December there will run NL turbo tournament with € 300 + € 30 buy-in. On Thursday then, two-day € 1.000 + € 100 freezeout will break out, which on second day, Friday, will be accompanied by also two-day € 1.000 + € 100 PLO freezeout. For Saturday the organizers prepared 3 side events: two-day € 2.000 + € 150 NL freezeout, two-day € 1.000 + € 100 NL freezeout and ladies event with € 300 + € 30 buy-in.

On the final day of the series, Sunday 6th December, the main event and both two-day freezouts will be finished and the last tournament, € 500 + € 50 NL Shootout, will take place. Besides tournaments, this year, there will be also nutritious 17 tables of cash games running on 24/7 providing wide range of blinds and game variants.
