World Series of Poker Europe concluded by 10,000(pounds) NLHE Main Event and the bracelet with the first prize 868,800(pounds) found its owner.
John Juanda made a fabulous appearence during the whole event, as he was sitting on the top of the board at the end of day 3, 4 and he defended his chip lead through the final table. There was not any longer final in the WSOP history and the 22 hours long competition set a new record. And who made Juanda´s company in the final? Seat 1: Robin Keston - 849,000 The shortest stack Chris Elliott was a first to fall and for his ninth place he collected 81,450(pounds). Toni Hiltunen was today´s first victim of Stanislav Alekhin and he had to reach the rail when his jacks weren´t good enough against Alekhin´s pocket queens which improved to set after turn hit the board. Hiltunen´s eighth place was worth of 108,600(pounds). The seventh place and 135,750(pounds) waited for Robin Keston, who was defeated by Ivan Demidov with pocket nines. Just three hands after Alekhin got Broadway straight in hand with Scott Fischman, whose top pair failed to improve and Fischman went home with 171,950(pounds) for his sixth place. The next Alekhin´s victim became Daniel Negreanu (fifth place, 217,200pounds), after he called all in Alekhin´s raise with A9, but his hand didn´t improve and Alekhin won with pocket jacks. Bengt Sonnert went out on the fourth place (271,500pounds), again defeated by Alekhin with pair of fives. John Juanda needed 242 hands and seven hours to defeat Stanislav Alekhin. He managed it with quads and Russian player became second with 533,950(pounds) for his efforts. |
