This time WPT made its stop in one of the world´s most prestigious poker destinations, in Bellagio, Las Vegas, where PokerStars.net pro Bertrand ElkY Grospellier claimed the title and $1.411.015 first prize.
WPT Festa al Lago attracted 368 players, who collected the biggest prize pool in history of WPT. Grospellier started final table with twice more in chips than the player on the second spot and he maintained the healthy lead for most of the final. He came to heads up with 15 times more than Nam Le, but the game was far from being boring, as Nam Le doubled up twice. When he was trying to double up for the third time holding A-Q, he crashed ElkY´s pocket tens which were finally good enough to defeat his opponent. For his second place Nam Le took $943,215. Osmin Dardon finished third and went home with $506,245. Other notables in final table were Nenad Medic, who finished 4th ( $373,010) and 5th Adam Levy ($266,445). Grospellier is definitely being in a good shape. In the beginning of 2008 he won the PokerStars Carribean Adventure and also he´s been doing well at EPT as he´s currently the third with his total EPT winnings. What´s more he´s one of the only three players who claimed both EPT and WPT titles (alongside with Ronald De Wolfe and Gavin Griffin). Final table results:
1st: Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier, $1,411,015 2nd: Nam Le, $943,215 3rd: Osmin “Oddie” Dardon, $506,245 4th: Nenad Medic, $373,010 5th: Adam “Roothlus” Levy, $266,445 6th: William Mietz, $186,510
