Records in EPT San Remo
Image The San Remo stop of PokerStars European Poker Tour was attended by record number of players despite transportation problems of some players due to volcanic activity in Iceland.

Total number of participators ended on 1,240 players coming from 44 countries, which made the tournament in the charming Italian town the biggest EPT event ever.

Some players took a bus from London and drove over 20 hours to catch the fight. But not all of them will have the opportunity to continue on the Day 2, e.g. Peter Eastgate and Barry Greenstein were busted out on Day one already. On the contrary, another traveler Jason Mercier will get the chance.

On Day 1a 584 players took place followed by 656 others on the Day 1b. First prize will cut off €1,250,000 from the overall prize pool of  €6,014,000. There were 620 survivors ready to take part in the Day 2 leaded by Michael Eerhart with 247,800. Team PokerStars Pro Bertrand "ElkY" Grospellier is breathing behind his neck with 232,200.
