The EPT inaugural event brought together over 550 players for the 5000 euro tournament . The winner of the main event was the professional backgammon player Arnaud Mattern who won is first ever EPT trophy and 708.400 in price money. Playing carefully, Arnaud who was second on the chip lead just after Norinder managed to keep the spot until the final challenge with Gino Alacqua. As the final table started, Norinder was chip leader with over 1 million. See below the starting chips and seat assignment on the final table:

Norinder played as a chip leader should, taking out the short stake (Johannes Strassmann), who went all in over the top of Norinder's preflop raise. Easy call for Norinder with a pair of nines against pair of duces…, No deuce appeared on the board, and Strassmann collected €39,200 for his ninth-place finish.
In a rapid reversal of fortune, it was Norinder who got busted in eighth place after giving away almost half of his stake to Arnaud and finally loosing the rest of his chips to Kristian Kjondal and Norinder went from chip leader to out in eighth place (E€63,200) in almost no time at all.
Dag Palovic was eliminated when he got the last of his chips in the pot against Kjondal, he collected 93.600 Euro . 
Nedzib Suman was next to fall when his A-10 in clubs couldn't improve against Juha Lauttamus' pocket sevens. He finished in sixth place for €119,000. Short-stacked Markus Golser departed next in a big confrontation with Juha Lauttamus, the Austrian player collected 151.800 Euro followed by Juha Lauttamus with fourth place and 182.000 in cash price. The three-handed play lasted for about an hour before Kjondal got all his chips in the pot against Alacqua, the young Nowejian cashed out 235.300 Euro.
Arnaud and Gino went heads-up after a short break…., Gino was in lead, and it took more than one hour before Arnaud doubled up with a pair of JJ. Only 15 minutes later the final hand with Arnaud raising preflop with A-K and Gino moved all-in with Q-10 in diamonds, Arnaud called instantly, the flop reveal a flush draw for Gino but the turn give a K putting Arnaud in front, no help with the river which busted Gino who cashed out 407.300 Euro, and assign the title of EPT Prague Open to Arnaud Mattern with a cash price of 708.400 Euro!
